Leading South East law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore have assisted the Motorline Group with another multi-dealership acquisition to add to the series of business purchases it has already completed in 2017.

Motorline acquired Nissan Ashford and Peugeot Ashford for an undisclosed sum.

The deal brings the total number of Nissan dealerships operated by Motorline to nine, retaining Nissan as Motorline’s second largest brand partner after Toyota. It has also bolstered Motorline’s Peugeot offering across East Kent.

The acquisition brings the total number of dealerships and TPS centres operated by the Motorline Group across the UK up to 53, which includes a further three dealerships in Crawley which are set to open early 2018.

Commenting on the acquisition, Glen Obee, Chairman of Motorline stated: “The company is delighted to have acquired the Ashford Nissan & Peugeot businesses which fit perfectly into the group’s existing Kent representation for both brands. The group has already identified a number of operational synergies which will complement our existing Nissan & Peugeot operations. The two new dealerships increase to five, the number of dealerships in Ashford and further strengthens the group operations in East Kent.”

The Corporate team at TS&P, led by Partner and Head of Corporate, Joanne Gallagher, advised the Motorline Group on the acquisition. Joanne was assisted by Corporate Associate, Faye Cook.

Commercial Property Partner, Joanne Wright, and Solicitor, Nicole Priestley, advised on the property elements of the transaction.

Joanne Gallagher said: “We have acted for the Motorline Group for a number of years and are delighted to have advised in connection with another successful acquisition. The deal further strengthens Motorline’s share in the Nissan market, as well as the Group’s overall presence across Kent.  We look forward to continuing to assist Motorline in its future expansion and growth plans.”
