Thomson Snell & Passmore recently acted for long-standing client, Nurture Landscapes Holdings Limited, in respect of its acquisition of Gavin Jones Limited.

Gavin Jones, with a turnover of £30 million and the proud holder of the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen, will now become part of the Nurture Landscapes group of companies. This combined Group will have sales of £65m, employ 1,000 staff and service over 3,500 clients across the UK.

Nurture Landscapes has expanded considerably since it was founded in 2008, through both organic growth and acquisitions. It has a turnover of £35 million with around 550 staff and a national presence across six regions in the UK.

With the majority of Nurture Landscapes’ turnover attributed to landscape maintenance to the corporate sector, this acquisition will add significant capacity to the commercial landscaping arm of the business.

“Gavin Jones is a perfect fit for us,” says Peter Fane, founder and MD of Nurture Landscapes. “There’s a natural synergy between our work and our values that will be greatly enhanced as we join forces.”

Nick Gabay, Partner in the Corporate department, led the project team at Thomson Snell & Passmore and was assisted by Alisa Sweeney, Partner in Commercial Property, Ben Stepney, Senior Associate in Employment and Joseph Hartland, Trainee Solicitor in Corporate & Commercial. Speaking of the deal, Nick Gabay said:

“It is a continued pleasure to advise Nurture Landscapes on their biggest acquisition to date. It was an extremely rewarding transaction with a number of interesting challenges to achieve the desired structure. This is a particularly exciting acquisition and we look forward to playing our part in Nurture Landscapes’ continued growth.”
