Canterbury residents can banish the autumn blues when a new series of lunchtime concerts opens at the University of Kent in Canterbury, sponsored by law firm Furley Page.

The autumn concert programme kicks off on Wednesday 10 October with one of Britain’s most highly-acclaimed saxophone quartets, the award-winning Ferio Saxophone Quartet. Having delighted audiences and critics alike since making its debut in 2015, Ferio Saxophone Quartet has an exciting array of music to showcase through a choice of compelling and varied programmes.

Matthew King, Professor of Composition at the Guildhall School of Music in London takes to the piano to offer something a little different on Wednesday 14 November, as he provides a fascinating insight into the musical score of Alfred Hitchcock’s chilling romantic classic, Vertigo. The concert takes place to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Hitchcock’s masterpiece, voted the greatest film ever made by international film magazine, Sight & Sound.

Finally, in the run-up to Christmas wrap up warm and join CantiaQuorum, one of the UK’s newest and most exciting ensembles, as they deliver ‘The Winter’s Tale’, a thrilling journey through frost and snow to meet music from four hundred years of winter wonderlands (Wednesday 5 December).
