Law firm and first-time sponsor Furley Page on why you should enter the KEiBA 2017 Awards

As a law firm which has been at the heart of the Kent and Medway business community for generations, Furley Page recognises excellence in business when it sees it.

So, at a time when employers are tackling the challenges of the current economic climate with innovation, drive and entrepreneurial flair, Furley Page has announced its support for the Kent Excellence in Business Awards in 2017.

As a new sponsor of the Employer of the Year award, Furley Page is now at the forefront of honouring and showcasing businesses which have excelled this year, says Andrew Masters, Partner and Head of Employment Law.

“Businesses who enter the award we sponsor are employers who have recognised that their staff are their most important asset,” says Andrew.

“Motivated employees provide outstanding customer service which in turn boosts business and increases productivity and profitability. Employers who have the full backing of their staff can face the challenges of the future, stronger together.”

The Employer of the Year Award is one of 16 categories and Andrew has urged local businesses to enter in 2017. “I have no doubt that the KEiBA awards are the premium accolade to aspire to in the county. Winning a KEiBA can propel your business forward and provide a platform to help you go on to even greater success in the future and that’s why I urge people to give it a go.

“When I attended the launch of the Kent Excellence in Business Awards 2017 at Chatham Historic Dockyard I was rubbing shoulders with some of the most dynamic, creative and forward-thinking entrepreneurs and business leaders in the county.

“Two past winners spoke about the impact that success at last year’s KEiBA has had on them. Although their businesses are as different as chalk and cheese, they echoed each other in providing a ringing endorsement of the positive benefits they have enjoyed following their triumph in 2016,” adds Andrew.

Sponsoring the Employer of the Year Award is a natural fit for Furley Page, which has one of the most highly experienced employment law teams in the region. The team’s expertise is recognised by independent national legal guide Chambers UK, while Andrew is personally rated in the highest band.

Andrew adds: “I’m really looking forward to judging the entries in the Employer of the Year category and to help me in the task I’m joined by two of my colleagues who have the experience and commercial know-how to help me spot a true winner. They are Partner Tony Chester and Solicitor Deborah Geering and together we relish the opportunity to see at first hand the best of Kent’s business talent.”

The deadline for entries is Friday 24 February. Entry is free of charge and you may enter up to three categories. Further information and entry forms are available at www.keiba.co.uk
