For Maidstone-based Brachers, charity begins at home: law firm raises £30,000 for Kent charities

Brachers has raised over £30,000 for Kent charities over the last two years, including Macmillan Kent, Heart of Kent Hospice, Headway West Kent and Demelza House.

£2,310 has been raised since the start of October alone. On October 3, Brachers employees took part in a seven mile walk starting at The Heart of Kent Hospice and ending at the Kings Arms, Boxley, to raise money for Heart of Kent Hospice, Headway West Kent and Demelza House

The £30,000 plus in donations were raised as a result of team activities ranging from sponsored runs, walks, triathlons, cake sales, and dress down Fridays.

Managing Partner of Brachers, Jo Worby, said: “I am proud to lead a law firm that recognises the importance of giving something back to the local community.

“At Brachers, charity really does begin at home. Brachers’ roots run deep in Kent, having been established here for more than a century, and we remain committed to investing in the region’s future.”

Jo Worby added: “Playing an active role in the local community is hugely important to us. From farmers to local businesses, our clients form the backbone of Kent’s economy.

“Feedback from employees has been very positive. Raising money for charity was not only worthwhile, but fun. We are looking forward to raising even more money for charitable causes in 2014.”
