William Addis, formerly head of the employment team at Clarkson Wright and Jakes, has joined the Employment and HR team at leading regional firm Brachers. His arrival brings the number of employment law specialists to ten, the largest team rated by either the Legal 500 or Chambers guide to the Legal Profession in Kent.

William advises on all aspects of employment law including advising HR managers on day to day issues, defending tribunal claims, negotiating exit strategies, advising on the employment law implications of business sales and purchases, mergers, tendering and TUPE and drafting employment contracts and service agreements. With over eleven years post qualification experience in employment law William is also regarded as a leader in his field. William commented: “I am delighted to join Brachers and eager to apply my expertise and experience to the new challenges the role will bring.”

The firm has also been joined by three newcomers Colin Smith, Kuldip Matharoo and Clare Pullinger.

Colin has been appointed as an Associate in the Employment and HR team. With ten years experience as a specialist employment lawyer he helped set up and develop HR and employment specialists Outset. Colin has specific skills in the areas of redundancies, reorganisations, the employment aspects of business restructuring and executive terminations.

Kuldip and Clare have both joined as Solicitors in the firm’s expanding Commercial Property team. Kuldip previously worked for city firms Linklaters and Nabarro LLP and more recently with the legal team at Kent County Council. Clare has joined from the London office of global firm Norton Rose where she qualified and gained a further three years experience in their Real Estate Department.

Managing Partner, John Sheath commented: “We are delighted to welcome such outstanding talent to the firm, their knowledge and skills will reinforce and enhance our existing resources as part of a strategy for growth in specialist sectors.
