Creaseys’, the Tunbridge Wells accountancy firm, which was recently named as ‘Best Single Office Tax Practice in the UK’, is holding a ‘Cross Channel Challenge’ to raise money for its charity of the year, Tunbridge Wells Crisis Recovery.

The event is being run over four days, with the goal of team members covering 428 miles (the equivalent of London to Paris and back) on foot, by bike or on a rowing machine.

On the evening of 30 July, Creaseys’ employees are being invited to take part in either a 5km or 10km run from the firm’s office in Tunbridge Wells.

Then, from 1 to 3 August, the team will endeavour to complete the remainder of the miles on a treadmill, rowing machine or exercise bike - all of which will be set up in the offices and have been donated by Creaseys’ client, Risebridge Health and Sports Club from Goudhurst.

Tunbridge Wells Crisis Recovery is a Christian charity, staffed by volunteers and is Creaseys’ charity of the year for 2012. The charity operates a day centre in Tunbridge Wells that provides support to people with addictions and the homeless, offering hot meals, showers and clean clothes.

“We wanted to do something a little different to support our charity of the year and the ‘Cross Channel Challenge’ seemed like a perfect thing to do while the Olympics are on,” says Emma Roberts, Chief Executive of Creaseys. “It’s something which all of our team can take part in and 428 miles is a great goal.”

Team members from Creaseys are looking for sponsorship from family, friends and clients. There is also a JustGiving website:
