Phil Reynolds runs the Olympic Torch Relay due to his fundraising for Demelza

Reeves, one of the South East's leading accountancy and financial services firms, were proud to watch employee Phil Reynolds running as a Torchbearer in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. Phil was nominated through the Lloyds TSB campaign and was selected because of the contribution he has made to the charity Demelza. Reeves also took the opportunity to coincide Phil's run with the cheque presentation for the funds they have raised for Demelza over the last year.

Phil, who is based in the Chatham Maritime Office and ran in Westgate-on-Sea on Thursday 19 July, commented on his experience: "Running with the torch was such an overwhelming experience. I'm very honoured to have had the opportunity to be an Olympic torch bearer!

On the coach before the run it was weird hearing an Olympian like Karen Pickering say she was nervous! Whilst I was running it was great to have my friends and family there to cheer me along and I'm very proud to have been part of such a phenomenal event!"

Clive Stevens, Managing Partner at Reeves, commented: "It was great to watch one of our employees take part and be recognised for all their community and charitable efforts, especially in raising money for Demelza when he was one of the Reeves skydivers. We had the live feed of the torch relay showing Phil's run screened in each of our offices for the people who couldn't be there in person to cheer Phil on".

Phil was nominated to take part in the torch relay through Lloyds TSB, Presenting Partner of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay due to the fundraising he did for Demelza. Just before Phil's run was screened, Reeves also took the opportunity to present Demelza with a cheque for their fundraising over the last year. Reeves raised an impressive £7,645 for Demelza and have been proud to support them for the last two years.

Clive Stevens goes on to comment: "We are delighted that our fundraising efforts will make such a difference to the lives of young people and their families".
