Brachers complete TRYathlon challenge for Macmillan

A group of staff from Brachers have completed the ultimate TRYathlon challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support (Kent).

Between them they swam the distance of the English Channel (21 miles), cycled the distance from London to Olympia in Greece (1424 miles) and walked the distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End (874 miles).
In the process the leading regional law firm, based in Maidstone, has raised £8,937.50 for Macmillan – their Charity of the Year.

The feat, which was undertaken over the course of six days, culminated in the walking discipline at Bewl Water and involved nearly half of all staff members.

Philip Cunningham, CEO of Brachers commented: “The TRYathlon was a success from start to finish. Staff really got behind the idea, had a lot of fun and in the process raised a fantastic amount of money for Macmallian.” He added: “It’s been excellent to see everyone working towards a common goal and has been great for staff morale. The moneys raised will allow Macmillan to continue with the important work they undertake in the county.”

Moira Mitchell, Kent Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, commented: “When Brachers came up with the TRYathlon idea we thought it was really ambitious. The fact that they managed to complete all the mileage requirements and raise as much money as they have is a real achievement. We would like to thank all the participants and their sponsors as well as Brachers for giving their staff the time off on a paid basis to undertake the TRYathlon.”
