John Harley joins The Kent Corporate Finance Alliance (KCFA) following the great success that Robert De Fougerolles brought to the role since its inception in 2009.

As Chairman of the KCFA, as well as of The Kent Investor Network (KIN), John’s skills will bring together a wealth of new ideas and joint opportunities to widen the regional network.

Speaking at the KCFA AGM whilst thanking Robert De Fougerolles for his dedication and hard work over the last 4 years, John continued to say “this is a very exciting time for the KCFA, with a dedicated and quality membership established throughout the region. I look forward to continuing to raise the profile of the excellent corporate finance community in Kent”.

John’s new role within KCFA places him as a significant thought leader in the corporate finance and investment sector which is emphasised by his role as Chair of the Kent Investors' Network, which represents a group of Angel Investors in Kent. John “hopes to develop mutual interest between the two organisations to benefit all stakeholders including entrepreneurs in Kent”.

John’s enviable reputation is based upon a career which culminated in his retirement from Ernst and Young LLP in 2011. He was then Head of Global Private Equity from January 2008 and prior to that was Global Vice Chair for E&Y's Global Client Strategy for almost three years.

He joined E&Y in 2000 from PwC to lead E&Y's Global TMT Corporate Finance practice and after two successful years was appointed to run E&Y's European TMT business. He has worked in Germany, The Netherlands, South Africa and the USA and speaks reasonable French and Dutch and some Spanish and German.

John is the Audit Committee Chair of the University of Brighton and chairs Groundwork London, the largest operating charity in London and he also chairs their UK Audit Committee.
