Kreston Reeves and Brachers Win KCFA Deal of the Year 2018/9

Congratulations to both Kreston Reeves and Brachers who were awarded the KCFA Deal of the Year 2018/9 for their Drink Warehouse deal.

The event was a great success with judges Chris Price and Sandy Farmer presenting the winners and runner up with their trophies and prize.

The judges commented: “This deal was a highly complex transaction involving a private equity fundraise, refinancing of debt and 2 concurrent acquisitions, Drink Warehouse stood out as it covered the full suit of corporate finance skills and involved a number of locally based advisors.”

Completed in April 2019, the deal involved the advising Drink Warehouse UK Limited on its equity investment from Percipient Capital, debt refinancing, Kent County Council loan and two acquisitions. Read more about the deal here.

The runner up position was awarded to CooperBurnett for advising the shareholders of Brookcourt Solutions Ltd on the sale of their company in its recent reverse takeover by the AIM listed company Shearwater Group plc. Read more about the deal here.

The judges commented: “Reverse takeovers are one of the most complex types of transactions to undertake and the judges were impressed by the relatively unique nature of the transaction. Cooper Burnett impressed having advised the client since inception and helped to support the growth of a business in such an attractive sector (cyber security).“

Thank you to all those who attended last night and congratulations to those that were involved in both deals, as well as all those that participated in the awards. A special thank you to Chris Price, Partner at Mobeus Equity and Sandy Farmer, Investment Partner at Ethos Partners, we were delighted to have you as our judges this year.
